Ike Turner: Guitar Hero
Ike & Tina Turner Revue @ the Soul To Soul concert in Ghana

The Soul To Soul music festival took place on March 6, 1971 in Ghana, West Africa. It was filmed and made into a documentary, along with other footage of the American music acts assimilating into the culture. These two Ike and Tina Turner songs are from their performance at the festival. Guitar solo aficionados will probably appreciate Ike's crazed solo at the end of "I Smell Trouble."

Wow! I have the Soul to Soul soundtrack, so it's a real trip seeing these pictures from the actual show. The Ikettes look so beautiful in those white dresses!

I know. I have some other pics I need to upload. There's this one of Tina and you see through her top. Wild! On the DVD there's commentary with Ike. In the "I've Been Loving You Too Long" performance Tina is really going to town stroking the mic, and the interviewer asks Ike, "Was that your idea?" Ike says, "No, that's all her. I need a copy of this!"

Also, the Ikettes move so fast, it's hard to get a good screen capture!
